Snells Beach
Driving 9km east on Sandspit Road from the riverside village of Warkworth through the rolling green country side you arrive at the one of the most popular sea side villages in the region, Snells Beach. Primarily it is a residential area and the first impressions are of wide and spectacular sea views over Kawau Bay to historic and picturesque Kawau Island. A look in either direction takes your gaze to the surrounding islands of Kawau then to the Hauraki Gulf and beyond. Snells Beach is the hub of the Mahurangi East Peninsula with its vibrant shopping centre, hotel and holiday accommodation, numerous eating places and Brick Bay Vineyard with its fantastic sculpture trail. Snells Beach is also famous for its beach walks, picnicing, safe swimming, boat launching and fishing.
